Portable Porridge

In spite of their cheesy name, these cookies do deliver on what they promise. They have all the ingredients of porridge, and yes, you can eat them on the move!

Ingredients (for 7 cookies)

100 g quick oats
80 g whole wheat flour
10 g walnuts
15 g almonds, chopped
25 g figs, chopped
50 g raisins
1/4 t ground cinnamon
15 g milk powder
15 g sugar
1 T vegetable oil
A generous pinch of salt
Enough water to make a stiff dough


Mix the first 11 ingredients. Add enough water to make a stiff dough.

Divide the dough into 7 pieces*. Roll out each piece into a rough circle.

Bake on a lightly greased cookie sheet at 180•C for 15 minutes.

Leave on the sheet for a few minutes with the oven door ajar.

Cool on a rack.
